WHERE IS FRED MOSS?

When one thinks about the questions, where is Fred Moss?  Or what has happened to Fred Moss?  One has to consider the lifestyle of the traveller.

It is a fact that, according to some newspaper reports, some travellers consider themselves to be race apart from other people, separated from them mainly by their beliefs.  Our children, whilst in school, are taught to accept travellers as they would children from any other race or religion.

They have their own laws, which are adhered to, before adhering to the law of the land.  Some believe in meting out their own justice, which consists of three forms of punishment.  Should any fellow traveller bring disrepute or dishonour to the family or community, it is known, that depending on the severity of the 'crime', they can be beaten, seriously beaten or they can be ostracised, i.e. sent away from the community in which they are living, stripped of all of their possessions and left to find a way of surviving without the assistance of their own kind, and the comfort of their family and friends. (There are, on the internet, many sites detailing the lifestyle of the traveller).

As no body has ever been found, how can we be sure that Fred Moss is actually dead.  Could he simply have been ostracised by his family or community for bringing some dishonour to the family?  In the early days of searching for Fred Moss, his family and friends were discussing the idea that he had been kidnapped.  Various mobile phone messages received by the family, one from Fred's phone, initially supported that view.  This is documented in various statements held by Chris's legal team.

Various 'sightings' were made of Fred Moss during the early days of his disappearance.  All documented.  One resident of Shepreth Lakes reported to the police that she had seen him, being supported, by two men, as he walked down a public footpath at the rear of her house.  Later, as she left her property to go shopping, she saw the three men pass the front of her property.   The men supporting Fred Moss looked as though they were half dragging him along.  She said his feet did not seem to be moving, as they would if he were walking.  She also said they were heading towards his yellow van which was parked in a lay-by a little way past her house.  Later that day she reported to the police that she had seen him again, this time as a passenger in the front of the yellow van.  She said that as she saw them waiting at some traffic lights, Fred Moss was staring straight ahead (as if he were dead).  Again this report is well documented and statements received from this person are with Chris's legal team.  Various other sightings of Fred Moss or his van were reported, but if they were investigated by the police, none gave any further clues to his whereabouts.  All reports of sightings are with Chris's legal team.

Whilst out searching for Fred Moss, visiting various locations and visiting people who knew Chris Nudds, Len Moss Jnr was heard to say "Damn, damn, damn, it should have been me".

When asked what he meant he failed to answer. Three people heard him say this and yet when this was reported to the police, they said they did not wish to take a statement of this event because it was not relevant.

During Chris's trial Len Moss Jnr was asked, amongst other things, about the abduction of Chris Nudds.  He refused to answer any questions saying, "he had been advised not to say anything by his solicitor".

Chris Nudds said that the last time he saw Fred Moss was when he was in the back of a grey Mercedes car.  He thought he was going off to do a drugs deal.  When Fred did not return, after a while, Chris went about his business.  In September 2007 a drug dealer from Buntingford was jailed for 13 years.  It was reported in the local paper that he threw £80,000 worth of cocaine out of the window of the Mercedes which he was driving.  As Buntingford is only a few miles away from where Fred Moss went missing, and given the use of the Mercedes, could there be a connection?

When one of Fred Moss's cousins was interviewed by the police, he said in his statement, "We don't care if he is dead, we just want to know where he's at".  What could he have meant? (This statement is in the possession of Chris's legal team).
